As I prepare for a new session of my Open PCM Training, which takes place twice a year, every year, in spring and autumn, I am starting to receive more and more questions about the PCM Personality Profile.
And that is quite normal, as a lot of the value that the PCM Training brings to one is based on that profile. After signing up for PCM Training, the first step to take is to fill in the PCM Personality Questionnaire, based on which you will then get your own PCM Personality Profile. 👀
PCM identifies six unique Personality Types that we all have in us. They each have their way of perceiving the world, communicating, and handling stress. Understanding which are your most present PCM Personality types in you (whether they are the logical Thinker, the fun-loving Rebel, the compassionate Harmonizer, the values-oriented Persister, the calm Imaginer or the action-oriented Promoter) – can transform your relationships, boost your communication skills and help you in managing stress: yours and others.
The PCM Personality Profiles
After you fill in your PCM Personality Questionnaire (and no, while many people call it the PCM Test… this is not a test as there is no wrong answer 😅 ), you will receive 2 profiles: a short one – the summary (pictured in the images below) and a longer one (between 25-40 pages).
These are the chapters about yourself covered in the Short/Summary Profile:
💡Your Personality Structure (your “house” or “condominium”) and your Base and Phase Personality Types
💡Your Distress Behaviours
💡Your Personality Perceptions (how you perceive and process the world around you, which translates into the language that you use and you prefer people use with you to connect
💡Your Character Strengths
💡Your Interaction Styles (including your Management Style)
💡Your Personality Parts (how you communicate verbally and non-verbally)
💡Your Communication Channels
💡Your Environmental Preferences
💡Your Psychological Needs (key to your motivation and distress!)
Phewwww! Quite a lot of useful info. In the end, it is no wonder some people call their PCM Profile the “key” to themselves. It’s like the manual we never received about ourselves…
Great intro for the PCM training, don’t you think?
As you can imagine, in the “long” profile, all these elements are described in greater detail and various suggestions are offered concerning your well-being and stress management.
If you want to get your own PCM Personality Profile, as well as a host of amazingly insightful information about yourself and others, come and join me for one of my Open PCM Training courses (see more info below) or find out if we can collaborate for an in-house PCM Training for your teams.
Stay happy! 🫶🏻
My PCM Training Courses
We go into the subject of PCM Personality Profiles and what that means for your communication and stress management, as well as many more interesting themes in my PCM training courses. I normally deliver PCM in-house, face-to-face or online, for organisations around Europe and the world.
However, twice a year (in early spring and autumn), I organise Open PCM Training Courses, where anyone can sign up. One session in English and one in Romanian. These are for all those who want to know themselves better and improve their relationships, their communication and their stress management.
The Open PCM Training Courses are organised as a 6-week programme: we meet online every week for 3h15’ to learn and practice and then we have homework from one week to another to “play the detective” and practice again what we’ve learnt. If this interests you, check out the Open PCM Training Programme presentation page or schedule a virtual coffee with me to learn more about it.
PS: A big reason I write is to meet people so feel free to say Hi! on Linkedin here or follow my Instagram here, as I’d love to learn more about you.
