What is Emotional Assertiveness (EA)?

EA is the skill of inviting healthy cooperation, seeking win-win outcomes, and building healthy and effective relationships. It is a rejection of destructive aggression, vindictiveness, vengeance, and victim behaviours replacing them with healthy human interactions.

Emotional Assertiveness is about expressing one’s authentic emotions with the objective to strengthen and deepen cooperation and friendship.

In fact, Emotional Assertiveness is Applied Emotional Intelligence.

As such, it is an essential building block of healthy teams and organisations.

The Emotional Assertiveness Seminar provides participants with the necessary skills to:

  • Acquire a working knowledge of the Emotional Assertiveness Model

  • Improve our ability to listen to our emotions, to understand them, to anticipate their impact on our lives and on our health and wellbeing
  • Deal with them in a healthy and authentic way
  • Improve our ability to build healthy, secure and meaningful bonds with others and improve our quality of life
  • Gain the four key qualities of emotional intelligence: Self-Awareness, Social-Awareness, Self-Management and Relationship-Management

This training takes place in person or online over the course of 3 days. In person seminars can be organised anywhere in the world.

Summary of the 3-day Emotional Assertiveness Training:

This module will facilitate you identifying, differentiating, and understanding your emotions. It clarifies the difference between healthy authentic expressions of emotion and the destructive and harmful expression of cover-up emotions.

You will develop means to express your authentic emotions in healthy ways to facilitate your management of conflict and the development of deeper relationships.

During the seminar you will have time together with your colleagues to explore the application of emotional intelligence in practice.
